Permanent Fund For South St. Paul Public Schools Nears 2018 Goal

Volunteers are working to raise $8,000 for the PeaceMaker Minnesota fund for South St. Paul public schools.  We are just $723 away from achieving the goal.

If the goal is met, the endowment fund will begin in 2019 to provide yearly funding to support violence prevention efforts of South St. Paul schools.

Verna & Roger Schwagmeyer, Jodelle Ista and Carol Bidwell.

Volunteers raising contributions for the fund include: Carol Bidwell, Patty Bjorklund, Debbie Engfer, Kristi Hood, Jodelle Ista, John Laliberte, Luther Memorial Church, Verna and Roger Schwagmeyer.

PeaceMaker Minnesota has supported Kaposia Education Center and Lincoln Center on a yearly basis since 2009.  The permanent fund will ensure continued funding for bullying prevention and conflict resolution efforts for generations.

“It matters now and in the future that kids learn to work through differences peacefully,” said Jodelle Ista.  “Without the endowment there is no guarantee there will be funding to help kids learn how to get along.”
