PeaceMaker Minnesota Administrative Assistant Job Description

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

1.                  Support PeaceMaker Minnesota development / fundraising efforts.  For example:

a.       Organize mailings by developing filters to pull out information from an online database to mail-merge letters and to create labels using an online service by Post Office, order mailing supplies, schedule and support volunteers in assembling a mailing.

b.      Submit grant proposals

c.       Organize events

d.      Represent PeaceMaker Minnesota at workplace fund-drive events and coordinate information and volunteers

e.       Prepare thank you and follow-up correspondence

 

2.                  Support PeaceMaker Minnesota services to schools.  For example:

a.       Communicate with schools about our services, process applications and respond to questions

b.      Recruit schools to the PeaceMaker network and process applications

c.       Support partners in delivering the Ambassadors for Respect program

 

3.                  Support PeaceMaker Minnesota communications efforts.  For example:

a.       Update information on the PeaceMaker Minnesota website

b.      Write newsletter articles and format paper and electronic newsletters

c.       Post social media communications

d.      Update information on on-line contribution platforms

 

4.                  Support PeaceMaker Minnesota efforts where needed.

 

Qualifications:

·         Good organizational / project management skills with attention to detail

·         Good communication skills – written and in-person

·         Comfortable using technology – entering data and running reports, working with Excel and Google Drive documents, mail-merging Word documents, making website and social media updates, setting up on-line event registration pages, etc.

 

·         Self-driven and ability to identify work

·         Strong customer service mentality

Additional Information:

 

The pay is $20 an hour with no benefits.  Mileage reimbursement is provided.  Most of the work will take place at the PeaceMaker Minnesota office with some travel within the St. Paul / Minneapolis metro area.  There is the possibility to work from home for some projects.  Preference is to hire someone who can help the organization increase revenue and to increase staffing in the future.

 

Time Commitment:  

 

87 hours a month (20 hours a week)
