Community Counts Campaign

May 1 through May 10, 2024

Every May we come together to show our support for youth learning to treat each other with compassion and kindness, to form a new community of peacemakers, and to make bullying prevention and conflict resolution education possible in communities across Minnesota.

This Year’s Honorary PeaceMaker, Dolores Voorhees

During the 2024 Community Counts Campaign, PeaceMaker Minnesota wants to thank Dolores Voorhees for her extraordinary support and commitment to peacemaking. Dolores has been a champion for PeaceMaker MN since 2011. She describes PeaceMaker Minnesota as an organization that is "small but mighty" and envisions a future where the organization's impact is experienced by every student in Minnesota.

It is this vision that empowers Dolores to invite others to join in her support of PeaceMaker Minnesota. When asked why she chooses to be a Team Leader during two campaigns per year she says, “I volunteer as a Team Leader because I want to see PeaceMakerMN succeed and I know that money is a necessary ingredient for making that happen.” She also enjoys the social aspect that comes from spreading the word about PeaceMaker Minnesota’s work. “Staying in touch with people as our lives change has always been important to me, and I feel comfortable asking my friends twice a year to consider donating to PeaceMaker Minnesota.  I feel I am offering them an opportunity to help in whatever way they can.”

Dolores believes in the value that PeaceMaker Minnesota brings to students, saying “I wish that I, as a young child, had had a Peace Guide!” and "I can only image the good that PeaceMaker will do for students as it continues to grow".

Thank you, Dolores, for being a  leader in making peacemaking education possible.

We invite you to join us in honoring Dolores by making a donation in her honor.  In recognition of Dolores' leadership in our community, Premier Banks will donate $1,000 to PeaceMaker Minnesota when we receive 20 contributions made in honor of Dolores.

You can make your gift here.  Check the "I would like to dedicate this donation" box to make it in honor of Dolores. Thank you to those who have donated in honor of Dolores!
