Volunteer
Volunteers are at the heart of PeaceMaker Minnesota! From stuffing envelopes to promoting our work on social media to fundraising, we could not do our work without the generous gifts of time, talent, and resources we get each and every day from volunteers.
Here’s How You Can Help
Current Volunteer Needs:
Fundraise:
Form a team to bike, jog, or walk to raise money for PeaceMaker Minnesota.
Form a Thrivent Action Team. Use a $250 budget to organize a local fundraiser for a PeaceMaker school or awareness-building event.
Be a Team Leader in our Candle Lighter Campaign by committing to donate $10 or more on a day you choose in early November. Recruit five other people to donate $10 or more each on the same day.
Organize Events:
Help to plan, publicize, solicit sponsors, and procure donated items for prizes and silent auctions for the following events:
April: annual cribbage tournament in New Brighton.
June: annual golf tournament in South St. Paul.
July: annual Pedal for Peaceful Schools bike ride along the Gateway Trail to the Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter Restaurant.
Spread the Word:
Stuff, stamp, and seal PeaceMaker Minnesota mailings from the comfort of your home or at the PeaceMaker offices.
Be a Social Media Ambassador: Engage (like, comment on, share) key PeaceMaker posts on Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter.
Tell employees about PeaceMaker Minnesota’s mission and hand out materials during workplace giving campaign events.
Advocate:
Talk with local businesses, civic groups, faith communities, etc. to develop support for local schools.
Provide Technical Support:
Provide computer support and technical assistance as needed for PeaceMaker Minnesota staff.
